CEH (312-50v13) is a knowledge-based MCQ exam covering ethical hacking theory and techniques. CPENT is a 100% practical, hands-on 24-hour exam where candidates must perform live penetration tests on real networks and submit a professional report.
LPT Master is not a separate exam. Candidates who score 90% or higher on the CPENT practical exam automatically earn both the CPENT and LPT Master credentials from a single exam attempt.
In February 2026, EC-Council launched its Enterprise AI Credential Suite with four certifications: AIE (AI Essentials), CAIPM (AI Program Manager), COASP (Offensive AI Security Professional), and CRAGE (Responsible AI Governance & Ethics), alongside the updated CCISO v4.
CEH v13 (312-50v13) is the current version of the Certified Ethical Hacker certification. It introduced AI-driven cybersecurity modules, enhanced cloud security and IoT hacking coverage, and updated content on ransomware and emerging exploits. CEH v12 has been retired.
Requirements vary by certification. Entry-level certs like CSCU and CCT have no prerequisites. Mid-level certs like CEH require either official training or 2 years of infosec experience. CCISO requires 5 years of experience in at least 3 of 5 CISO domains.
